I received the tipi shipment on time and was able to use it backpacking this weekend, which was cool because it was one of the rare instances in Southern California when it was actually raining. I love the tipi, it was really easy to pitch (I hung it from a tree) and it didn't seem to leak at all even though I hadn't seam sealed it yet.
As a side note, I used a net tent I already owned which is made by another manufacturer and it worked great with your tipi. It provided the moisture protection I needed from the ground and bug protection from above. It's ground loops attached perfectly to four of the tipi stakes and the top if clipped to one of the loops you already sewed into the inside of the tipi. It was almost as if the two products were designed for each other. There was ample extra room for my equipment and extra space to hang out free from the rain. -Nate in California
The tipi appears to be very well made and I am impressed and looking forward to trying it out. I will try to send some pics. I am thinking about setting it up on the ice to use as an ice fishing shelter. I have some ice screws that I can use as anchors. I bet that will be a first for one of your tipis. I bought a ******** 5-man tipi tent off you about a month and a half ago. I just wanted to say; you make an awesome product. I have had your tent out in all sorts of elements from the swamps of FL, the mountains in PA, to the straights here in MI. I could not be happier with the tent matter of fact I am selling my other tents to include my ****** . I was most recently at Reade Range Sniper challenge in PA and your tent turned a lot of heads. I gave quite a few guys your contact information and hope they will be contacting you shortly. I am also in the process of doing a complete review on a couple of sites that I am a member. VERY WELL MADE! Love it! Wife does too, that is a major plus. Taking the boy out in two weeks with it . . . then on June 24th I have a big backpacking trip in Colorado with the high school kids. again for the tipi! We got absolutely blasted for 3 of the nights with
snow, hail and rain! Thing was bombproof. Only problem was us zipping it
up on cold nights creating
condensation and we get that with any tent and even that wasn't bad at
